Jordin Sparks Announces Spring Tour Dates for 2010 :
Jordin Sparks spent nearly all of last year touring her latest album, “Battlefield,” while opening up for Britney Spears and the Jonas Brothers. Now she’s setting out on her “Battlefield Tour” solo for a string of Spring dates.
Sparks is set to kick off her tour at the Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City, NJ on April 24th. She’s then currently set to wrap up at The Grove in Anaheim, CA on May 23rd, just days before the “American Idol” finale which also takes place in the Los Angeles area. Coincidence? For the sixth season winner, I think not.
Sparks is heading out on the road with Sparks is singer/songwriter and actress Kate Voegele. She’ll be performing songs from her albums “Don’t Look Away” and last year’s “A Fine Mess.” Days Difference will also open on select dates.
Sparks released her album “Battlefield” last year, which yielded the hit title track and the dance hit “S.O.S. (Let the Music Play).” She recently filmed a guest spot for Nickelodeon’s “Big Time Rush,” also set to air in the Spring. ... Source Article ...
Jordin Sparks tour marches out for spring 'Battlefield' dates :
 The competition may be over for sixth season "American Idol" winner Jordin Sparks, but her R&B battle rages on this spring with a fresh headline tour. The Battlefield Tour begins on April 23 2010 at Newport Music Hall in Columbus, OH, and concludes May 23 at The Grove in Anaheim, CA.
A total of 22 concerts are scheduled for that four-week period, though additional tour stops are also planned for later in the summer. Sparks will reappear for a June 26 show at Dixie Landin' in Baton Rouge, LA, and an August 8 event at the Wisconsin State Fair in West Allis, WI.
Highlights on the spring calendar include engagements on April 27 at the Nokia Theatre in New York, NY; May 2 at Hersheypark Amphitheatre in Hershey, PA; May 13 at the House of Blues in Chicago, IL; and May 22 at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, CA.
Tickets for some concerts are already available to the public, but another round of general onsales is planned for the March 26-28 weekend. Markets with imminent onsales include Houston and Dallas (March 26), Boston and Los Angeles (March 27), and Westbury (March 28).
The face value of tickets varies from market to market, but three of Sparks' upcoming events are marked as free on her official fan club, Sparkstown. Amusement park concerts at Hersheypark and Dixie Landin' are free with admission. Her May 1 performance at Connecticut casino Mohegan Sun is also listed as a free show.
Sparks is still promoting her sophomore effort, "Battlefield," released in July 2009. The record debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200, three positions above her 2007 self-titled debut.
This is the most recent national tour for the "Idol" singer. Sparks spent most of last summer supporting Jonas Brothers on tour, as well as opening for Britney Spears' second tour leg. ... Source Article ...

Into Battle With Jordin Sparks :
 Season six “American Idol” winner Jordin Sparks is gearing up to hit the road for another round of shows in support of her sophomore effort, Battlefield.
The “Battlefield Tour” kicks off April 24 at the Tropicana Casino & Resort in Atlantic City, N.J., and runs through the end of May.
To accommodate her younger fans, the event is 18+, as is an April 30 appearance at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in Hampton, N.H. Sparks’ April 27 show at Nokia Theatre Times Square in New York City is a 16+ affair.
Battlefield, which was released last July, provided Sparks with her first No. 1 single in the U.S., “S.O.S. (Let the Music Play)."
In January, fans in the U.K. were blessed with a third single from the album, "Don't Let It Go to Your Head." Fans at home are still waiting.
Sparks told AIToday.com that she and her label are in the process of picking a third single for Stateside release.
"It’s a decision on my part and the label as well, and then talking to the people that I know at radio to see what would be the best one to work into everything right now, so we’re all still talking about it all," she explained.
Recently Sparks revealed that the choice has now come down to “It Takes More” and “No Parade.”

Jordin Sparks Unveils “My Battlefield Tour” and dates for 2010 :
 Jordin Sparks may be one of the busiest young stars in show business, but that’s not stopping here from seeking more work. Jordin announced today that she would begin touring the country in April, as part of her new headline tour, the ”My Battlefield Tour.” Yet, Jordin Sparks may not be completely satisfied. She admitted to fans that if she could come to every city - she definitely would.
Sadly, some cities or states are left without a gig; yet Jordin wants everyone to know that she appreciates fans from all parts of the world.

Jordin Sparks Biography (Brief) and Jordin Sparks Background Information :
Jordin Sparks may have been the youngest American Idol when she won the title on the reality show's sixth season, but the Glendale, AZ, resident had already packed plenty of accomplishments into 17 years. The daughter of Phillippi Sparks, former left cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys and former defensive back for the New York Giants, Sparks had no formal vocal training, but showed a flair for singing while still a toddler and was drawn to performing of all kinds at an early age. By her early teens, Sparks was singing, acting in plays and modeling, and already winning acclaim for her talents.
 Along with performing with Alice Cooper and Michael W. Smith, she was Coca Cola's Rising Star in 2002 and made her recording debut with 2003's For Now EP with CCM artist Matthew Ward and engineer Gary Leach. The following year, she won two awards at the 2004 Gospel Music Association Academy, placed second overall in that year's Music in the Rockies competition, and appeared on America's Most Talented Kids twice. In 2006, she won a plus-size model search held by the Torrid clothing line and appeared in an ad for Torrid in the December issue of Seventeen magazine. That year, Sparks also auditioned for American Idol, performing in the Los Angeles tryouts; while she didn't make the cut, she later won the American Idol-affiliated contest Arizona Idol, which allowed her to audition again for the show in Seattle. She made it through to Hollywood on the strength of her rendition of Celine Dion's "Because You Loved Me" and found a place among the 12 American Idol finalists early in 2007.
Her performances of songs such as "I (Who Have Nothing)" and "Hey Baby" showed her charm and versatility, and soon made her a fan favorite. Like fellow American Idols Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Taylor Hicks, Sparks was never in the bottom two or three performers throughout the entire competition. Ultimately, Sparks beat out Blake Lewis and Melinda Doolittle to become the sixth American Idol on May 23, 2007. Her debut single, "This Is My Now," was released soon after the show's May finale, and Sparks spent that summer appearing on the American Idol tour. She also began working on material for her album, reteaming with Leach on songs that were previewed on her website. Jordin Brianna Sparks, or simply "Jordin Sparks", is a model, actress, and singer, all rolled into one. She was born in the year'89 in Arizona and is born to Jodi Sparks and Phillippi Sparks. Her father Phillippi used to be an NFL football player. She is bi-racial because of her father being Black and her mother being White. Aside from loving music, Sparks also loves reading, watching football, and attending church.
 Jordin has had her share of playacting. She performed in the play entiled: "Magdalene", having the dual roles of Bea and Deborah. She also played parts in Arizona's Valley Youth Theater. Sparks' very first appearance was in the play: "The Wiz" in March of 2002, where she played the roles of one of Emerald City's dancers and as a plant, to be specific, "a poppy". Other productions she has joined include Cinderella and another series of The Wiz.
At the age of thirteen, Sparks launched an album entitled: "For Now", which contained a total of five songs, mostly about Christianity. She collaborated with Matthew Ward who was a Christian artist as well as with Gary Leach, a sound engineer who had prior experience working with Leann Rimes. Jordin was also featured in "Live at Mr. Lucky's", a compilation album which was released in 2004.
In the year 2007, Jordin Sparks became one of the hopefuls in Americal Idol, and also became one of the favorites of the judges. She bagged the title of American Idol 2007. She also won the Arizona Idol title prior to her victory at American Idol. A few years before her win at Arizona Idol, Jordin also claimed 2nd place at the national competition: "Music in the Rockies", which was established to recognize aspiring artists under the genre: "Contemporary Christian Music". She also won in America's Most Talented Kids in 2004.
Even before American Idol, Sparks has had a lot of exposures. In fact, she has been requested to sing the national anthem at different sporting events as well as in events held in the "Country Thunder". She has also performed with Alice Cooper in 2004 and has even toured with Michael Smith.
Jordin Sparks also had her shot at modeling when she became one of the winners of 2006's "Next Plus Size Model", a Phoenix Torrid competition. She was featured in a number of ads for the company and was featured in a full-page ad for Seventeen magazine in its December 2006 issue.
